Maureen received an A.B. degree from Emmanuel College, Boston, MA and an M.A. in Linguistics with an ESL emphasis from The University of Iowa. She became Coordinator of ESL Programs in 1981. Maureen's professional interests include teacher training, test development, second language acquisition, program and curriculum development, and program assessment. She has taught TESL Methods, TESL Practicum, ESL grammar, reading, writing, communication skills, ITA Orientation, and TAPE Presentations.
Before joining the IIEP, she taught at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA; Burlington Public Schools, Burlington, MA; and Reynolds School District, Greenville, PA. Maureen's travels include Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Italy, France, Greece, Canada, Germany, and Japan. In her spare time she reads, practices yoga, sews, cooks, and gardens.
