Jennifer Erin Gerbyshak grew up in Gardner, Kansas.
She earned her B.A. in Linguistics (with a German minor) from The University of Iowa, as well as her M.A. in Linguistics with a TESL emphasis.

At The University of Iowa, Jen has taught TAPE pronunciation and fluency and IIEP reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills. Her special interests include ESL pronunciation, reading, and writing.

Jen has traveled throughout the American Southeast and Southwest, as well as Germany, where she was an exchange student. Her hobbies include music (playing trombone and handbells, singing, listening to classical and Celtic music), reading (classic literature, science fiction, fantasy, and history), acting, and games (word, number, and strategy games).
