Dear Prospective Student:

Congratulations on your scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education! Thank you for your interest in the Iowa Intensive English Program and The University of Iowa.

If you would like to enroll in the Iowa Intensive English Program and continue as an undergraduate at The University of Iowa , please follow these steps:

1. Apply to the Iowa Intensive English Program at https://web.its.uiowa.edu/iiep/index.page. The IIEP has a limited enrollment, so apply as soon as possible.

After you have submitted your application and the $340 payment, mail the following documents to 1112 University Capitol Centre, The University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA 52242:

a.) a copy of the page in your passport that contains your picture and the exact spelling of your name (If you do not have a passport, please indicate the spelling of your full name as you expect it to appear on your passport.)

b.) your original scholarship letter (we cannot accept PDFs, faxes, or photocopies).

When we receive these items, we will issue you an immigration form I-20.

(If we notify you that the program is full and you have already submitted your application, we will refund your $250 tuition deposit and $40 mailing fee.)

For more information about the Iowa Intensive English Program, browse our website.

2. Apply to The University of Iowa at http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/undergrad/apply/intl-apply.htm.

Once you submit a complete application, you will be notified of one of three possible outcomes:

—If you have not taken the TOEFL but your academic credentials meet University requirements, you will receive a letter of academic eligibility from the University admissions office. (This letter is sufficient for you to receive your scholarship money.)

—If you have not taken the TOEFL and your academic credentials do not meet the University requirements for admission, you will receive a letter indicating that you are not eligible for admission to the University.

—If you have taken the TOEFL and have a score of at least 133 (450 on the paper-based test) and your academic credentials meet the University requirements, you will receive a letter of conditional admission to The University of Iowa and an I-20 from the University admissions office. For more information about conditional admission, visit http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/undergrad/requirements/intl-conditional.htm.

If you are seeking admission to an undergraduate program in Nursing, Engineering, or Pharmacy at The University of Iowa:

You need to submit a TOEFL score of at least 197 (530 on the paper-based test) along with your application; these programs will not consider applications lacking TOEFL scores, nor is there conditional admission to these programs.

If you do not have a 197 TOEFL and would still like to enter a nursing, engineering, or pharmacy undergraduate program, you may apply to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and thus receive a letter of academic eligibility. You must then enter the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and take your general education classes; then, once you have taken the TOEFL, you can transfer to the College of Nursing , Engineering, or Pharmacy. (If you transfer during your first year, you will also need to submit an ACT or SAT score).

IMPORTANT: There is no conditional admission to graduate programs at The University of Iowa , and no possibility of securing a letter of academic eligibility for such programs.

We wish you the best of luck!
