Haley Beyer is a senior majoring in journalism from Burlington. She is a public relations intern for Henry Russell Bruce, a marketing assistant for WSUI & KSUI Public Radio, and the editor of WSUI & KSUI’s program guide. After graduating in December, Haley plans to pursue a career in journalism, public relations or marketing.

Travis Brown is a senior majoring in journalism and sports studies from Oskaloosa. He currently works as a sports correspondent for the Iowa City Press-Citizen and as a freelance writer. After graduating, Brown plans to pursue a career in sports journalism for a newspaper or magazine.

Todd Bruns is a senior majoring in journalism and communication studies from Cedar Rapids. After graduating in December, he will begin a job at Cedar Rapids Steel Transport (C.R.S.T.) in Cedar Rapids as a Fleet Manager.

Layla Kokemuller is a senior majoring in communication studies and minoring in journalism from Davenport. She spent the summer of 2004 studying in Europe. After graduating in December, she plans to pursue a career in television broadcasting.

Jennifer Moore graduated with a degree in journalism this past summer, and is originally from Ottumwa. She is currently working at The Daily Iowan while on the staff of the Iowa Journalist. After completing this semester, she looks forward to pursuing a career designing for a newspaper, but eventually would like to design for a magazine.

Carrie Napolilli is a senior majoring in journalism and psychology from Elmhurst, Ill. She served on the executive board of Alpha Chi Omega as vice-president of communications. Influenced by a semester studying in Florence, Italy, her post-graduation plans include writing for travel publications aimed towards college students or teaching high school and coaching water polo.

She is currently on staff as a writer for the Public Relations Student Society of America newsletter and the University of Iowa Honors Program newsletter. After graduating, she plans to pursue a career with a Midwestern public relations firm.

Katelyn Porter is a senior majoring in journalism from Cedar Rapids. She has interned for the University of Iowa College of Nursing and the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Ill. After graduating in May 2005, she plans to pursue a career in public relations.

Ashley Switalski is a senior majoring in journalism and political science from Downers Grove, Ill. She has gained experience in both fields through internships in public relations and for the Democratic National. After graduating in May 2005, she plans on traveling through Europe before relocating to Davenport. She will pursue her MBA at St. Ambrose University in the fall.

Dick Johns is an adjunct instructor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He teaches the Advanced Media Design workshop and also Methods of Secondary School Journalism for those students or teachers seeking a journalism education endorsement. Johns has been a member of the J-MC School faculty and advisor for the Society of Professional Journalists since 1972.
