Richard Johns
Bio: Adviser and editor Johns is an adjunct instructor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In addition to teaching the Iowa Journalist course (19:178) which produces the Iowa Journalist he also teaches the Methods of Secondary School Journalism. He also is the faculty advisor for the Society of Professional Journalists. .
Joann Bautista

Hometown: Sheldon, Iowa
Bio: Bautista is double majoring in journalism and international studies with a focus on international communication. She had a brief internship with her hometown paper, The Mail-Sun. After graduating, Bautista plans to work abroad for a travel or lifestyle magazine.
Allison Dunlay

Hometown: Waterloo, Iowa
Bio: Dunlay is double majoring in journalism and political science. She interned with Daily Iowan TV as a news reporter her junior year. She plans to move to Chicago to pursue a career in public relations after graduation.
Megan Eatough

Bio: Eatough will graduate with degrees in both journalism and Spanish in May 2010. As a result of her experiences studying abroad and volunteering in Peru in 2009, she hopes to combine her passions for writing, language and web design into a career that will satiate her travel bug.
Kelly Hepner

Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
Bio: Hepner is a double major in journalism and English with a minor in Spanish. She currently works as a DJ at KRUI in Iowa City. After graduation she plans to move back to Chicago to pursue a career in either radio broadcasting or book publishing.
Jake Jensen

Bio: Jensen is majoring in journalism and international studies with an emphasis in European studies, and has a minor in Spanish. He worked as an arts and culture reporter/editor at The Daily Iowan, as a DJ at KRUI radio, and is currently an intern at University Relations. After graduation, he hopes to work for an arts magazine or online publication.
Victoria Leonard
Year: Junior
Hometown: Antioch, Illinois
Bio: Leonard is on the fast track to graduation with a double major in journalism & mass communication and anthropology, complete with a minor in Spanish. She plans to graduate from The University of Iowa in December of 2010. Leonard hopes to live internationally following graduation, working as a graphic artist/designer and magazine writer.
Amy Mattson

Hometown: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Bio: Mattson is a double major in English and journalism. She is currently the executive editor for CONTENT Magazine, a student run arts and literature publication. Mattson also serves as a University Writing Fellow and is employed with the Rape Victim Advocacy Program in Iowa City.
Kristen Peters

Bio: Peters is a double major in journalism and English. She is focusing on magazine and online writing and recently finished an internship and job at The Daily Iowan as an arts and culture reporter. She plans to attend the University of Birmingham, UK for the Fall semester.
Patrick Rafferty

Hometown: Orland Park, Illinois
Bio: Rafferty is double majoring in journalism and health and sports studies. He is concentrating in sports media and public relations, and currently interns at The Daily Iowan. Rafferty is also a member of P.R.S.S.A. and will intern with Palm Springs Power Baseball this summer.
Alina Rubezhova

Hometown: West Nyack, New York
Bio: Rubezhova is double majoring in journalism and communication studies with a minor in English. She was a metro reporter with The Daily Iowan between June and October 2009. She plans to study in Italy this summer and use her studies abroad to build international experience.
Natalia Salazar

Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
Bio: Natalia Salazar is a double major in journalism and mass communication and art photography, with a Spanish minor. She has interned with The Daily Iowan photography department and The Chicago Park District Press Office. After graduation she hopes to pursue a career in public relations and event planning.
