Research Interests:
My primary research interests have been in applied and descriptive areas. Although early in my career I was involved as a part of the research team in the Iowa Wrestling Studies, my background and research skills followed a clinical course. Research in the area of repeated motion has been the focus of my most recent interests. Further investigations into the area of repeated motion diseases are planned through collaborative efforts with the UI Spine Center and Sports Medicine Services in Orthopaedic Surgery. Recent efforts have focused on questions sports injury prevention from epidemiologic descriptions and preventive interventions.
