Bachelor of Science - Admission Information
for Prospective Students

Freshmen Admission: All students seeking to register for the first time at The University of Iowa must be formally admitted to The University of Iowa. Applicants may obtain the proper forms from:

The Integrative Physiology Major - Admission Information

Students may apply for admission to the major in Integrative Physiology after the first semester of the freshman year if they will complete the prerequisite requirements during the freshman year. Applications are available from the Department of Integrative Physiology located at 424 Field House or via the Departmental Web Page (click here). Because there is limited enrollment into the Integrative Physiology major, students must submit a formal application to the departmental office on or before February 28th for the following Fall semester. The requirements for admission to the undergraduate Integrative Physiology major are as follows * .

The completion of (or current enrollment in) the following course work::

  • 2:10  Principles of Biology I (4 s.h.)
  • 4:11 Principles of Chemistry I (4 s.h.)
  • 10:001 Rhetoric I (4 s.h.) and 10:002 Rhetoric (4 s.h.) or
    10:003 Rhetoric (4 s.h.) or
    10:004 Rhetoric (3 s.h.) or
    10:006 Rhetoric (3 s.h.)
  • 22M:16 Calculus for the Biological Sciences (4 s.h.) or
    22M:21 Calculus and Modeling I (4 s.h.) or
    22M:25 Calculus (4 s.h.) or
    22M:35  Engineering Calculus I (4 s.h.)

*Please note that completion of the minimum application requirements does not assure admission to the program. Students who are denied admission may reapply the following year.
