Students must earn a total of 120 semester hours (s.h.) to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). Undergraduate Integrative Physiology majors require a minimum of 63 semester hours (s.h.). Twenty Eight of these are within the department and 35 are in the closely relates areas of biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics and statistics. Nine s.h. of additional chemistry (organic chemistry I, II and laboratory) is highly recommended. With proper use of electives, the admission requirements for all graduate health profession programs can be met.

***Curriculum Update for Prospective Majors***

The curriculum for the Integrative Physiology undergraduate major will change beginning Fall 2009. These new requirements apply to students admitted to the major for the Fall Semester in 2009 and thereafter. Current students (admitted prior to Fall 2009) have the option of following the curriculum requirements that existed at the time they were admitted to the major, or switching entirely to the new requirements (you MUST see your academic advisor if you wish to pursue the latter option).

A.  Course Requirements in the Integrative Physiology Department - 28 Semester Hours (s.h.).

1. Students must complete the following courses.

27:130 Human Physiology (3 sh)
27:142 Human Physiology Laboratory (2 sh)
27:053 Human Anatomy (3 sh)
27:151 Gross Anatomy laboratory for Integrative Physiology (2 sh)
