Facilitate interchange between community members with a reciprocal interest
in the rich and diverse culture of India, and increase awareness of Indian
political and social issues.

The India Student Association was established in 1981 as a platform for
community members of Indian descent to congregate and represent their
cultural heritage . The organization was primarily composed of Sub-Continental
natives. In 2001, an alternative Indian Cultural Association was formed
to represent the South Asian Diaspora. As of 2006, the organizations merged
to become the Indian Student Alliance. Our organization prides itself
on reuniting the native Indian populace with the Diaspora community. As
a single entity we are stronger than ever, with over 850 belonging members. The founding fathers of both of the former Indian organizations sought to create entities dedicated to the provision of cultural education for local community members. Cultural education remains at the forefront of our organizational objectives, as each year we sponsor a range of activities for its purpose. Our unyielding dedication to cultural awareness is responsible for the growth and success of our organization. |
