Diwali is among the most glamorous and widely celebrated holidays throughout the myriad cultures of South Asia. Colloquially known as the "Festival of Lights," its radiance permeates cultures to create a sense of communal unity and an environment of joyous festivity. For the past fifteen years, Diwali has been a cultural institution at the University of Iowa, as the biggest diversity initiative of the Fall.

This year’s Diwali program will include a reception with catered Indian meal from Taste of India, providing the best Indian cuisine that the Iowa City area has to offer. The show will feature a range of cultural performances from classical Indian music to modern Bollywood dance. Student and local dance troupes will be joined by renowned performers to make for an alluring display of cultural acts.

This function typically generates a crowd exceeding 800 visitors.

$15– General Admission; $20 – Reserved Seating

 

Note:

Theater seating within the auditorium requires that children are provided separate tickets. Exceptions may only be granted in the case of infants. Failure to comply with regulations will result in denial of admission into the auditorium.
