Why subscribe?
By subscribing to the ISA email list you will receive information on upcoming ISA activities and events. Also, you will receive emails about other matters that are of interest to the India Student Association at the U of I.

How do you subscribe?

Send an email to: listserv@list.uiowa.edu
Leave the subject field blank and simply write the following in the message:

      subscribe indiaorg <yourfirstname> <yourlastname>

A confirmation message will be sent to your e-mail address asking you to confirm your subscription request. You must reply to this message with ok in the body of the message. Leave the subject unchanged.

If you do not supply your real name on the command line, you may experience a minor problem if you are unlucky.

LISTSERV insists on having a "real world" name for everyone on the list, because addresses such as 00038385@XXXMAIL.COM are not very informative to the other users of the list. Normally, LISTSERV will extract both your e-mail address and your real name from the mail headers generated by your computer. But some computer programs do not supply any real name, and LISTSERV may ask you to resend the command with your name.
