IWIS: Iowa Women Initiating Social Change
  -------------------------------------------------------
IWIS
is a feminist activist volunteer group at the Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC).  IWIS volunteers learn about direct action organizing, educational campaigns, and policy work.  In the past, IWIS has also worked with Public Access Television to teach video as a tool for social change.  IWIS meets Monday nights throughout the fall and spring semesters, deciding on issues and organizing to make social change.  IWIS Volunteers are students at the University of Iowa, and can receive practicum credit through women's studies.
  -------------------------------------------------------
Training is complete for Spring 2003.  If you are interested in signing up for future trainings (next training to be held in Fall 2003), please contact WRAC for a volunteer application.  You can WRAC at  (319) 335-1486 or stop by 130 N. Madison, Iowa City, IA  52242.  WRAC is the blue house across the street from the Iowa Memorial Union.
