Justin Torres & Michael Fauver Win Lambda Literary Honor

Workshop alumnus Justin Torres (MFA 2010), and Michael Fauver, currently a graduate student at the Writers' Worskhop, are two of the five authors named to the the Lambda Literary Foundation's "Five New Queer Voices to Watch Out For."

Justin Torres's work has been published in a number of literary journals, including Tin House, Glimmer Train, and Granta, and he was recently featured was featured on National Public Radio’s Book Tour: Stories from Two Bright New Literary Voices. He is a 2010 Fiction Fellow at the Stanford Creative Writing Program.

Michael Fauver, a second-year student in the Graduate Fiction Workshop, has had residencies at Yaddo and the MacDowell Colony. He is currently at work on a novel.

The "Five New Queer Voices to Watch Out For" list was announced earlier this month at the 22nd Annual Lambda Literary Awards. The Lambda Literary Foundation celebrates and promotes LGBT literature through programs that honor excellence, promote visibility and encourage development of emerging writers.
