Summer Programs

Graduate Summer Workshops

Anyone may apply for non-degree summer coursework offered; this summer, the Workshop will offer courses in two separate summer school sessions. The application deadline for both sessions is March 1, 2012.

SPECIAL MAY SESSION: MAY 14 – JUNE 1 2012
Three-week intensive workshops taught by ZZ Packer in fiction and James Galvin in poetry. Summer school credit will be given.

REGULAR SUMMER SESSION: JUNE 5 – JULY 27 2012
An eight week session taught by Mark Levine in poetry. The instructor for the Graduate Fiction Workshop will be taught by Danielle Evans. Undergraduate Fiction Workshop will be taught by James Alan McPherson. A writing sample is required for both courses. Graduate fiction applicants should submit 2-3 short stories or chapters of a novel, and undergraduate fiction applicants should submit 1 short story.

Undergraduate summer courses

Several three- and eight-week creative writing courses are offered for undergraduates (8C:023, 8C:097, 8C:098). You do not have to submit a manuscript in order to take these classes. Check ISIS for course listings.
