The theme of the 2nd Korean Film Festival was Contemporary Korea Films & the Introduction to Short Films. As the continuance from 1st Korean Film Festival, we presented four contemporary Korean films and six short films. Those films were the ones instigated either blockbuster hits or received exceptional assessment by film critics in Korea. We hoped those updated issues and images portrayed in the films assist people discovering modern Korean society further. Also, it was possible for the audience to see the status of Korean film industry by the means of the film technology and the completeness of the movies after the screening.

This film’s reputation in Korean Film history is phenomenal. It is the most expensive film in Korean cinema and Shiri produced the biggest success in Korean film market that it even surpassed the gross of Titanic in Korean box office.

On the rebound from a love affair with Sang-Kwon, a married university instructor, Ji-Sook takes a trip to Kangwondo, a region surrounded by mountains with her two friends. Sang-Kwon can not forget the relationship with Ji-Sook, since he takes it as his true love, but tries to overcome the pain.

One of the most anticipated films in this decade, The Power of Kangwon Province was voted the best film of the year by the Korean film critics.

Die Bad is a hard-boiled action movie consisted of four episodes about the violence: school violence, ghost’s violence against its murderer, violence between a cop and a gangster, and the appalling fight among gangsters. Suk-Whan and Sung-Bin, both teenagers, rumble with Hyun-Soo’s group at a poolroom. Sung-Bin accidentally kills Hyun-Soo as he tries to stop the fight. After 7 years in prison, Sung-Bin gets back home. But, no one welcomes him back. Furthermore, he is haunted by the ghost of Hyun-Soo. In despair, Sung-Bin throws himself into the world of organized crime. Meanwhile, Suk-Whan, who actually ignited the fatal fight, became a cop, and tries to stay away from Sung-Bin...

The only thing Gil-Dong’s sister wants for her birthday is to be allowed to die peacefully as she wastes away in a hospital bed. But Gil-Dong is willing to sacrifice everything to keep her alive.

Fighting of Subway 1 & 3 kids for their territories and the hopeless love story of Zzang & So-Hee.
Four Million Blows Director: Jung-Hyun Yoo

Yellow head hits Jung-Hyun badly per rest time. Resisted Jung-Hyun, however, Jung-Hyun’s face is keeping broken on and on. But he starts to sleep during so much time at night working time.
Fimily Director: In-Moo Huh

Long time ago, the family was happy. But as time passed, they begin not to talk each other truly. They try to chase a new, special life, but they failed. They come back home and talk to each other untruly.
Sunflower Blues Director: Min-Han Kim
Time: 35 min

A young woman, Soon-Im sees psychiatrist due to her depression from her unsuccessful love affair. Doo-Sik, a man of few words, is going to go somewhere for drug-dealing as usual.
