5:00 – 6:00 p.m. (Brief ceremony at 5:15 p.m.)
LGBT Resource Center, 125 Grand Avenue Court

Join us for a celebration in honor of LGBT students graduating from The University of Iowa in 2008–2009. Faculty, staff, family and friends are welcome. Graduating students and guests RSVP to bret-gothe@uiowa.edu. Parking is available at the Boyd Law Building, Melrose Ramp, and metered space at Slater Residence Hall. Sponsored by the UI LGBT Staff & Faculty Association.

The Times of Harvey Milk Movie Screening
6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Iowa City Public Library, Room A

The UI LGBT Staff and Faculty Association will be screening the Academy Award winning 1985 documentary The Times of Harvey Milk in conjunction with the University of Iowa Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration of Human Rights. A discussion period will follow the screening with questions being taken by Michael Blake and Linda Yanney, two local LGBT members who experienced this pivotal time period in 1978.

If you have seen or plan to see the 2008 film Milk by Gus Van Sant, you should also see this documentary. (If you're unable to attend the screening, the Iowa City Public Library and University of Iowa Main Library both have a copy of the documentary.)

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the film will begin at 7:00 p.m. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. This is a free event open to everyone.
