Laboratory Exercise #4

Note: This is a graded exercise. This means that you will work independently of your colleagues, but you may use any notes or any other resources you have, and you may ask the instructor or teaching assistant if you have questions. You should not, however, expect a straight answer to an "Is this the right answer?" question. Questions of clarification are perfectly legal.

Purpose: To afford further opportunity for the construction of bibliographic records according to the rules and format of AACR2.

Procedure: Produce the bibliographic record (exclusive, of course, of subject headings, tracings other than title, and call number) for the title page and verso facsimiles shown in the lab pack. For this exercise you must submit a bibliographic description; you may also cite AACR2 rules that guides your decisions. [Please note, however, that you are not being graded primarily on your description, not on deft explanations from AACR2!] Both of these items will be submitted using the appropriate form below. Deadline is Thursday, June 17, by 3 PM.

Grading: Correctness, accuracy, intelligent interpretation of the rules, adherence to the above directions.
