Welcome to MiHi Lab

Cyber-enabled High Performance Computing for Medical Imaging & Informatics

Medical Image High Performance Computing (HPC) & Informatics Laboratory (MiHi Lab) is a research unit within the Department of Radiology in Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. The lab's research focuses on large-scale medical imaging, medical image informatics, and computational biomedicine using the cutting edge technology of computing. The laboratory is operated by a group of faculty members and directed by Professor Jun Ni, a computational scientist, in the Department of Radiology at UI. The laboratory research are sponsored by the University of Iowa, NIH(NIBIB), NSF, Intel, Microsoft, Microsoft, Nvidia, etc.

In 2004, the lab was founded by Dr. Jun Ni and Dr. Ge Wang ( currently, Samuel Reynolds Pritchard Professor in Virginia Tech). The laboratory is equipped with many many computing facility and software for medical imaging and for computational biomedical research. The lab has 2000 sq. ft. It is located at Westlawn Medical Research Building on the west side of the UI campus.
