1) Reviews should strike a balance between description and evaluation, often by opening with a perspective on the field. In preparing your review, keep in mind that the M/MLA Journal is meant to appeal to a wide range of disciplines within the modern languages and literatures.

2) Unless otherwise specified, your review should be about 1,200 words maximum.

3) The reviewed book should be cited as a separate entry at the beginning of the review, in accordance with the following model:

Works by a single author:

Postmodernism: Local Effects, Global Flows. By Vincent B. Leitch. Albany: State U of New York P, 1996. xiii + 195 pp.

Works by more than one author:

4) Submit two double-spaced copies of your review to the M/MLA office. Please do not submit your review via fax or e-mail.

5) The M/MLA Journal editor and editorial board reserve the right to reject any review, including those that have been solicited.

6) You must be a current M/MLA member to be published in the Journal.
