American pianist and conductor Shari Rhoads has accompanied many of the greatest singers of our times. From 1982-86, she worked as correpetitor at the Gran Teatro de Liceo, Barcelona, Spain and the Teatro de la Zarazuela in Madrid. She began her career as a conductor as assistant to Hans Drewanz at Staatstheater Darmstadt, Germany and Kapellmeister at the Luzernertheater, Switzerland. From 1991-2000, she was professor for Correpetition, Lieder Interpretation and Opera Repertoire at the Musikhochschule Luzern and Conservatoire de Lausanne. Currently, she is vocal coach and diction professor at the University of Iowa, USA. Her collaboration with Georges Delnon in the master classes “Szensiche Gestaltung” began in 1996 at the International Music Festwoche of Luzern.
Georges Delnon studied musicology, art history and composition at the Conservatory of Music in Bern, Switzerland. As stage director for opera and theater, Delnon has guested in various theaters in Switzerland, Germany and France. He was co-founder of the Music Theater Workshop at the Conservatoire de Musique de Bienne, lecturer at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen and full professor at Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. From 1996-1999, Delnon was Intendant of the Stadttheater Koblenz and co-founder of the Koblenz Festival. Since 1999/2000, he is Intendant of the Staatstheater Mainz.
