The School of Music enrolls about 450 majors and has a full-time faculty of 50. The building, which houses the School, was built in 1970 and includes a 200-seat recital hall, a 720-seat recital hall, and a 2600 seat auditorium, and a music library. The Iowa City/Coralville area includes a population of about 75,000. Cultural demands are high and the atmosphere is cosmopolitan. Public schools, libraries and health care are outstanding.
