Facilities Updates

The School of Music will be housed in several buildings this year.  Please check ISIS for the most recent class information.

The School of Music Main Office, including the offices of the Director, the academic office, and the scheduling and facilities office, are located at 130 Clinton St. Music, across from the courthouse.  The voice department and many School of Music academic courses will be held at Clinton Street Music (CSM5 and CSM6).

The School of Music will hold orchestra, band and percussion rehearsals in Music West - Interim Building (the former Museum of Art building on N. Riverside Dr.).  The building has undergone extensive renovations to house ensemble practice areas, student practice rooms, and faculty offices for ensemble directors and the double bass and cello studios.

Most instrumental music studios and faculty offices will be housed in a newly constructed space in the University Capitol Centre (entrance on the second floor of the Old Capitol Mall, near the escalator).  This space includes practice rooms, chamber rehearsal rooms, and organ practice rooms.  A new student recital hall and classroom have also been constructed on the first floor of the Mall.

Music Education and Music Therapy classes, along with offices for Musicology, Music Education and Music Therapy faculty, will be housed on the second and third floors of the Communications Center.  The Jazz Department will continue to be housed in Trinity Church.
