Music Education The Music Education program is nationally known for preparing excellent practitioners and scholars. Undergraduate students: Students seeking teaching licensure obtain a Bachelor of Music degree from the School of Music plus additional music education methods courses and professional education courses offered through the Department of Teaching & Learning in the College of Education. Students should apply to the College of Education Teacher Education Program (TEP) during the spring semester of their sophomore year.
Graduate students: The University of Iowa Graduate College, in conjunction with the School of Music, awards graduate degrees in Music Education for the Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy. Follow the "Graduate Degrees" link on the menu bar on the left side of this page.
