Historic Museum Explorers

One hundred years ago, under the leadership of director Charles C. Nutting, the Museum was known worldwide for its research, collections and innovative educational approach. Famous explorers and collectors vied to have their specimens displayed in the Museum. A Nutting endorsement helped them raise funds for new expeditions and gain support for other ventures.
