22b. Silver bracelet A silver bracelet is always presented to a woman along with her new ceremonial dress when she is adopted into a clan. Silver is associated with spiritual power, perhaps because of its similarity to white shell, a substance linked to the manitou. Early ethnographers reported all silver ornaments were regarded as amulets and holy, especially silver bracelets which were called "sacred or holy bands."
