CT Scanning--"Hands-off" analysis

CT scanning allows researchers to look through the clay matrix and protective plaster wrap without disturbing the bone--in this case, the baby scapula. Next semester students will use virtual autopsy software to reassemble the bone mathematically and produce a file than can then be input to the Biomedical Engineering rapid prototyping machine to produce an intact duplicate of the scapula--without ever touching the bone!
