Driving Study At UIHC

Adults between the ages of 25-60 with no history of neurological disease are invited to participate in a research study on the effects of an anti-epileptic drug, Phenytoin, on thinking, concentration and driving performance.

During the study, you will receive phenytoin for one month and a placebo for an additional month. Participation involves 5 visits to the research clinic and will last for 3 months. Each visit will last approximately 4-6 hours and will involve pencil-and-paper tasks, computer testing, and driving in a simulator.
