The
Research and Evaluation Staff compile research and information related
to disparities. We work with the state of Iowa and sites across the U.S.
assisting with the analysis of data, evaluation, dissemination of information
and providing technical assistance, training and organize conferences.
For a step-by-step explanation of the method for using relative
rate indices, see the power point at: How are Relative
Rates Calculated? Method
for Measuring Disproportionate Minority Contact (.ppt)
[The DMC Resource Center encourages examination
of population based rates to consider what an "acceptable rate"
is in addition to the relative rate which is a measure of disproportionality
relative to white rates.]
