University of Iowa administrators past and present celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies during a reception held Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Levitt Center. Obermann Center Celebrated 30 Years

Marking a milestone was the focus of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008.  Scholars, associates, University officials, donors and friends joined the Obermann staff in recognizing the contributions and achievements of the center during the last three decades. Director Jay Semel presented a brief, light-hearted overview of the early beginnings and congratulatory remarks were given by Vice President for Research Meredith Hay and UI President Sally Mason.
