The picture of the Eagles in the tree has such an impact on me. I take my kids out in the timbers constantly and this day we were by a dam; the river was still frozen; and the otters had landed quite a feast of fish. They left the rest for the Eagles, and as I was taking the picture I realized the circle of life was taking place in my back yard (we live 2 miles from the river). You know it happens, but to see it is awesome. The Bald Eagles have become more and more a part of our skies here in Iowa County. It is great to see this majestic species come back strong here in Iowa, and people love to watch them. To hear their scream in the sky is great.
If people would get out of their homes and busyness and take a walk they would see what we have in this state. We have so much wildlife that brings a smile and wonder. It brings great conversations with your kids. You can find out that they know more than you thought. Sometimes more than you know.
