An International Seminar

Iowa City, Iowa, June 11-12th 2000

Overview

This seminar is planned to discuss tobacco consumption trends in China, Hungary, Iceland, and the U.S.; and to exchange national perspectives on common themes of State control of tobacco, new trends in marketing among the young and women, and cross-cultural meanings of smoking. Similarities and differences of these trends occurring throughout the world are an additional priority. Sessions are arranged as a working seminar preliminary to the Iowa City conference on "Tobacco and Oral Disease: Strategies for Dental Professional Interventions."

The sessions will be held in the South Private Dining Room, Burge Hall, University of Iowa.

Sponsors include the University of Iowa International Programs, University of Iowa College of Dentistry, and Obermann Center, University of Iowa.
