Study Title:
Comparative assessment of single-tooth replacement in different implant
abutment-interface settings
The
purpose of this study is to compare three different dental implants. To
participate, volunteers must be 18 years of age, in good health and desire
a tooth implant to replace a single tooth missing in their upper jaw. No
tooth implants will be placed in molar sites.
Volunteers
in need of at least one dental implant in the front region of their upper
jaw will be recruited for a research study.
The study products
and the study dentist’s
visits, study procedures and laboratory tests will be provided at no
cost. Neither the subjects nor your insurance company will be charged for
the costs. Your other expenses in connection with the study, such as
travel, parking and lodging, will not be reimbursed.
Volunteers
must meet all inclusion criteria and none of the exclusion criteria.

Study Title:
Case series evaluation of a short dental implant placed in the posterior
maxilla in an early loading protocol.
This research
study will evaluate and document the clinical effectiveness of an FDA
cleared dental implant in the treatment of subjects missing teeth in
their posterior upper jaw. A minimum of two but preferably three dental
implants shall be considered for each subject. The dental implants will
be placed in the posterior upper jaw and allowed to heal for six weeks
prior to a provisional/temporary dental bridge being attached to the
implants. The permanent dental bridge will be attached to the implants
approximately 1 year after the dental implant surgery. The research study
is a five-year follow up study and requires 14 clinic visits. Seven (7)
of these clinic appointments occur in the first 12 months of subject
participation. Additional clinical follow-up appointments for analyses
will be performed at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 years after placement of the
provisional/temporary dental bridge.
Cost to
participate:
There are
costs for being in this research study. The costs are for the charges for
the dental surgeon who performs the dental implant surgery. Subjects will
have a choice of either a College of Dentistry faculty or resident to
perform the surgery. The residents are dentists who are receiving
specialized training in either Oral Surgery or Periodontics.
If you choose
a College of Dentistry Faculty Dentist, the costs are as follows:
For two
implants = $4,650.00 For three implants = $6,600.00
If you
choose a College of Dentistry Resident Dentist, the costs are as follows:
For two
implants = $3,860.00 For three implants = $5,435.00
Volunteers
must meet all inclusion criteria and none of the exclusion criteria.
