Aurora De Armendi, born in Havana, Cuba, is an interdisciplinary artist whose prints, drawings, videos and installations explore ideas of displacement, identity and the passage of time. Currently she is reconstructing immigrant histories regarding the concept of home. She is an MFA candidate in Printmaking and Intermedia at the University of Iowa where she received her MA in 2008. She graduated from The Cooper Union in May of 2005 with a BFA in Art. She has worked with the Latin American Community Art Project and LoCurativo, teaching art in Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
