Now in its sixth year, the Piano Sundays’ concert series at the Old Capitol Museum has showcased its most talented University of Iowa faculty and students. Each concert presents a unique set of musical selections ranging from Bach to Bartok, Jenni to Ginastera, Mozart to Mussorgsky and more! The historical Senate Chamber in the Old Capitol Museum is a fantastic space to hear the finest of the University of Iowa School of Music students and faculty.
Open to the public in 1976 as a historical landmark and museum presenting early Iowa and University of Iowa history, the Old Capitol Museum is honored to present this special ongoing musical series.
Concerts are held in the fall and spring on the first Sundays of each month and are sponsored by West Music. Each performance showcases the 1878 Steinway Centennial Grand Piano and is free and open to the public.
