Lois Cox was re-appointed as the office's half-time ombudsperson on Feb. 4, 2008, to serve through December, 2009. Lois is a clinical professor of law, and previously served as a co-ombuds from 1997-99. Lois is in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays. E-mail: lois-cox@uiowa.edu |
Although you are welcome to stop by our office or contact us at your convenience, we encourage people to make appointments so that we can serve their needs more rapidly. Appointments can be made via e-mail (ombudsperson@uiowa.edu) as well as by telephone, and messages can be left via voice mail after office hours or if no one is available to take your call immediately.
The Office is located in room C108 Seashore Hall, open daily from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

Directions
Room C108 is located on the first floor of Seashore Hall. From any of the entrances, take stairs or elevator located at either end of center hallway up to the first floor. C108 is about halfway down the center hallway
Seashore Hall is located along Iowa Avenue, just east of Van Allen Hall. It houses the departments of Psychology, Sociology, the Audio-Visual Center, the Ombudsperson, and general classrooms. The building is connected to the Spence Laboratories of Psychology at its southeast corner. It is built in the shape of an "H", with a two story link joining the east and west wings of the building. The wings are not joined above the second floor.
The accessible entrance is located at the southwest corner of the building, and is reached from Iowa Avenue. It is equipped with a power door opener. SSH may also be reached via Spence Lab.
Parking
There are metered parking spaces along both Jefferson Street and Iowa Avenue. There is also a public parking lot located across Iowa Avenue from Lot 2 (on the corner of Iowa Avenue and Gilbert Street).
