The Chamber Orchestra, designed for graduate students, is based around the ensemble format established during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Its repertoire covers a broad range from Classical and early Romantic composers to contemporary.  The Chamber Orchestra presents two or more concerts each semester and is conducted by Dr. Willam LaRue Jones.

Auditions for membership are during the first week of classes each semester (Orchestra winds and percussion are assigned by their respective studios). Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday, 1:30-2:20 p.m., room 180, Museum of Art.

Changes in registration should be made with the orchestra manager.

For additional information about the UI orchestras email  Christopher Fashun.
