Visiting OSA

The Office of the State Archaeologist is located in the Clinton Street Building at 700 South Clinton St. in Iowa City, a 10-15 minute walk south of the Old Capitol and Pentacrest (see map). Metered parking is available at the building.

Visitors are welcome at the OSA. We are happy to show our labs and library to anyone who wishes to visit. We especially invite researchers to make an appointment in order to view and study collections and archival material. Classes wishing to visit also should make an appointment so we can provide a guided tour.

Normal hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Visits at other times are possible by special arrangement. The OSA is closed on University holidays.

Please email the OSA or call (319-384-0732) for further information or to schedule a visit.
