Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Area

  archaeologist You can learn how at the Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Area. You'll meet a real live archaeologist and learn all about how archaeologists find, investigate, and interpret archaeological sites.
 
An archaeologist will even show you the basics of flint knapping! That's how to make tools out of stones the way people did years ago.

Artifacts hidden in a shrubbery Sounds like fun, doesn't it? That's not even the best part. You will get to participate in a real archaeological excavation at Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Area. Who knows what you'll find?
 
All the fun will last from July 22th to July 25th, Tuesday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Wickiup Hill. You'll be done just in time for lunch! You have to be 8 - 12 years old to participate, and you need your parent's permission. Show them this website and get ready for some fun!

Who: Children aged 8 -12
What: Learn how archaeologists find, investigate, and interpret archaeological sites. Special highlights will include flint knapping with an archaeologist and participating in a real archaeological excavation at Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Area.
*Registration deadline: July 5th*
*Cost: $45.00 per child.*
