"We are most happy to offer Part I of Climatic Change and the Mill Creek Culture of Iowa, originally edited by Dr. David A. Baerreis and Dr. Reid A. Bryson. The original manuscript was published in 1967 in Archives of Archeology Number 29, a Microcard publication series of the Society for American Archaeology. Publication in microcard was originally done in order that the data and results could be made immediately available. However, the microcard series affords limited application to many, particularly those without a microcard viewer available to them and is both awkward and inconvenient even when a viewer can be obtained. Publication is thus undertaken in order to offer the information to a wider audience. The reader may rest assured that Part I, consisting of Chapters one through three, is essentially complete and unabridged. PartII, including all remaining chapters and the bibliography, will appear as Volume 16, Journal of the Iowa Archeological Society. Hopefully, this volume will be completed in the very near future...."
