"It is a pleasure to present the thorough analysis of lithic remains recovered from the Brewster Site excavations recently conducted by the University of Wisconsin and the Sanford Museum. The Brewster Site is an important Mill Creek component which Ellison Orr once regarded as "the type site for Mill Creek."

"Material analysed includes over 1,500 flakes representing unmodified, utilized and retouched groups recovered from the Brewster site (13CK15), a Mill Creek component in northwestern Iowa. The study serves to establish stone categories and define flake types for the purpose of intra-site comparison and the detection of trends of potential value in inter-site studies. Major stone categories and flake types are given considerable attention and are presented graphically to show distribution within the 64 inches of deposit at the site...."
