I-Sites User's Guide: Table Windows

Tables are generated by using the  , , , and tools to select map features.

For the example below, ten Public Land Survey (PLS) sections in Muscatine County were selected.

Data for each section are represented by one row in the table.

The selected records can be zoomed to individually by clicking the hyperlinked record numbedr in the "Rec" column, or can zoomed to as a group by clicking "Zoom to these records" at the bottom of the table.

Table Attribute Definitions:
Rec Record number.  Each record number is hyperlinked. Clicking the hyperlink will zoom the map view to that record's location in the map view.
Section, Township, Range These three fields indicate the Section, Township, and Range of the selected PLS sections.
Total Sites The total number of sites recorded in the PLS section. Sites that cross section lines are counted more than once: once for each section the site extends into.
Prehistoric Sites The number of sites in "Total Sites" that have prehistoric archaeological components.
Historic Sites The number of sites in "Total Sites" that have historic (ca. post AD 1750) archaeological components.
Unknown Age Sites The number of sites in "Total Sites" that have components of undetermined or unspecified cultural affiliation.
Notes Presently, not all available data on cultural affiliation have been entered in the Iowa Site File database. If a section is labeled, "No data," no cultural affilation data are presently available. "Data incomplete" indicates that data are available for some but not all sites in the section.
