Prevent Segmentation Violations in ArcView Projects before they happen
From the ESRI Knowledge Base, this is very simple, very brief, and very sound advice about managing your ArcView projects.
Recover from a Segmentation Violation
The first thing to do is simply open a new (blank) project and Import the Bad Apr into it.  If that doesn't work, this contribution from the ESRI Knowledge Base gives step-by-step instructions for de-bugging corrupted ArcView projects using a text editor. Not for the faint of heart. Or the impatient.
