Hometown, where did you go to school? I am from Managua, Nicaragua. I did my undergraduate work, I do confess, at Iowa State University, and my M.A. in Spanish Literature here at the University of Iowa.

What do you do for SSP? I see myself as a coach in the game of achieving success in higher education. I believe that we would be successful in this game if all students on our team know the routines and plays, practice their knowledge, seek advice from their coaches when in doubt, and give their best as a person. As a coach, I intend to do my best to build a victorious team.

Hobbies? I love cinematography, which is a fancy word for movies. I like sports, especially mountain biking and soccer. I collect international paper money and banknotes, as well as hand-crafted masks from all over the world. Maps and literature are some of my favorite fields of study.

Like, dislikes? I like food, Latin dancing and conversations on feminism and foreign policy. I DO NOT LIKE celery or professional wrestling.
