Amy Fagerberg

Amy joined the NDIL staff as the TRIO Counselor in August 2004. She earned a B.A. degree in Journalism from the University of Iowa in 2001.  Amy also has a Master’s degree in College Student Personnel in 2004 from Western Illinois University.

After graduating from Iowa, I moved to Chicago to begin working in a public relations firm. Still, the feeling persisted that I was not quite ready to leave Iowa. My work and experiences in public relations are valued because I learned a great deal, however, I knew that my interests and talents lie in helping people much more than I was able to do in public relations. This realization prompted me to contact my Iowa mentors who helped me make the decision to enter the field of student affairs. My energy and satisfaction comes from working with college students, and I could not think of a better place to be doing this work than at Iowa. I am so happy to “officially” be a Hawkeye once again.

In my free time, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with family and friends, following college football, traveling, and reading. I am also proud to have attended 11 Jimmy buffet concerts over the years and hope to see at least that many more!
