Risa Lopez

Risa joined the NDIL staff as the Learning Coordinator/Counselor in May 2001 and has since moved into the role of Program Coordinator. She completed both her B.A. in Spanish Education and her M.S. in Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at Illinois State University. Risa enjoys working with students to improve their academic performance at various levels and is interested in the factors contributing to the decision to participate in voluntary academic support services. Within her current position, Risa focuses on working with students on academic planning, goal setting, and study skills development. She plans to continue her research and pursue her education in the area of Instructional Design, complementing her interests in both traditional and non-traditional learning environments. Outside of this, she appreciates music, art, and sporting events.
