University Relations Administration
An executive committee composed of the Interim Vice President for Strategic Communication Jude West, University Relations unit directors, the associate director for marketing communications, and the budget and personnel director, sets policy and priorities for the department. The committee works closely with staff in the Office of the President to advise central administration on communications issues and to promptly respond to information requests.

University News Services
The staff of University News Services report on news for University of Iowa colleges, departments, programs, and special events, generating news releases that are distributed to local, state, and national media outlets. The unit also maintains the UI News web site and prepares a daily digest of news releases issued that day, as well as news about the UI gathered from national and international media.

The designers, editors, photographers, and web developers of University Creative Services provide communication and marketing support for central administration and other units across campus. They create electronic and print vehicles aimed at student recruitment, public information, campus communication, and connecting with alumni and other key audiences.
