UI Earns NCAA Certification Of Athletics Program

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced Thursday that the athletics program at The University of Iowa has been certified by the NCAA Division I Committee on Athletics Certification. Iowa is among 46 Division I schools whose certification status was announced by the NCAA today.

The designation of certified means that the UI is operating its athletics program in substantial conformity with NCAA Division I principles.

Specific areas of study during the certification process included academic integrity, governance and rules compliance, and commitment to equity and student-athlete welfare. The NCAA sets standards within each area of study and uses them to evaluate all Division I members.
