When staff members are invited by the President or designee through the chairperson of a council or committee or otherwise, to attend meetings of the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, other University councils, committees, commissions, task forces, or student government, such attendance is deemed to be in line of duty when such events occur during scheduled work hours.
Staff members are requested to notify their supervisors at the earliest possible time of meetings referred to in III-25.1 and III-25.2 in order that departmental schedules may be arranged to accommodate such service to the University with minimal disruption. Departments are encouraged to accommodate such University service whenever possible.
