Stevens Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship

The Stevens Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship was established in memory of Guy and Adeline Stevens by their daughter, University of Iowa Assistant Professor Emerita Harriet Stevens. The scholarship is awarded each year to a junior (minimum 75 semester hours completed by the close of the spring semester) in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences with at least two semester of work remaining toward a bachelor’s degree in natural science. Applicants must be degree candidates in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences to be eligible for the Stevens Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship..

The scholarship is equal to two semesters’ resident undergraduate tuition.

The primary criteria for selection are professional promise and personal integrity, as indicated by three letters of recommendation (two academic, one personal).

The 2009-2010 Stevens Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship was awarded to Maria Rebecca Drout, a B.S. candidate in Astronomy and Physics. Maria was inducted into Alpha of Iowa Chapter on May 3, 2009.
