The Division of Pharmaceutical Service at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy



				Sterile injectable batches of up to 5,000+ units of both liquid fill and lyophilized formulations can be produced. Our manufacturing staff has extensive combined sterile processing experience. We can produce sterile solutions, suspensions, microemulsions, powder fills and lyophilized products. This operation is supported by a hot-loop, recirculating Water for Injection, USP system consisting of two stills producing 425 gallons per hour, and one 1000 gallon stainless steel storage tank, and stainless steel piping. Also, there is a Metromatic vial and ampule washer, a Cozzoli stopper washer, a Getinge pass-through autoclave, and a Gruenberg dry heat oven. Three class 100 filling areas, one of which is interfaced with a computer-controlled, CIP 48-square-foot Hull, are available.
